After a legendary 15-year Career, John Vallese was accorded an Honor bestowed on Only 276 Players since 1875!

Vallese, the current Catering Sales Manager of the Holiday Inn-Monroeville, has brought his tenacity and dedication to his current employer resulting in him setting volume, sales and profitability records for the period ended September 30th. The "Assassin", as he was known during his playing days, sold 17 wedding parties, 89 business meetings and seminars and provided food and beverage for 36 families who were mourning their loved ones.

12 Members of the distinguished Monroeville Chapter of Business-to-Business were treated to the service of Vallese during this period. Services such as providing difficult, economic room bookings, suggestions ranging from florists to jewelers to disc jockeys , and unusual food menus are all included in Vallese's arsenal. True to his dedication to serve, Mr. Vallese noted in an interview for the New York Times that appeared in the October 12th edition, "I take great pride in being able to deliver on the requests of my associates as well as my customers. Vallese, always modest, but brutally honest noted that the only B2B member he was unable to successfully serve was Harold Poley. Dick Clouser, a member of the Monroeville B2B recently asked Vallese if he could provide a room in Columbus, Ohio for a business associate. Not only did Vallese deliver the room for $39, he did so on Homecoming Weekend at Ohio State University. That weekend saw a record-breaking crowd of 110,229 fans visiting Columbus, and yet it appeared that arranging for the room was no big deal. His relationships with his fellow workers are something to be admired. Clouser remarked, "John is a guy that I would want on my side. He accepts an assignment willingly, and even in difficult situations he never offers an excuse, only positive results".

The 2nd busiest intersection in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is at the front door of the Monroeville Holiday Inn. Prior to Vallese's arrival in Monroeivlle, this intersection was not even on the map. His relationships with business leaders and his ability to meet and demonstrate his catering skills have been indescribable. In just 4 years, the efforts of Vallese have brought 4,112 catering-related groups to Monroeville. In June 1999, Former Governor Tom Ridge bestowed the "Catering Executive of the Year" on Vallese for his efforts to have Monroeville recognized as the "Center of Pennsylvania." Ridge commented that I have never met a more dynamic and tireless individual than John and I aould love to have him on my "Homeland Security Staff".

Holiday parties are Vallese's specialty. Since 9/11/01, economic times have been disastrous for many businesses. Even in these tough economic times, Vallese has set all production records with his catering abilities. He feels for both the business owner as well as the beleaguered employees. Bob Smith, Vice President of Human Relations at Westinghouse Electric recently staged a party under Vallese's supervision. "John is the best. We had a limited budget to work with as compared to previous years, but John suggested we offer entrees that were more plentiful than we had last year thus lowering our costs, as well as staging the event on a different night than we chose. He is a true professional."
